Meet the Founder

At South Asian SALT, our founder Nisha Veerd brings over eight years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist in the UK.

Her journey spans community paediatrics and neurodevelopmental teams, where she has supported countless individuals and families. Nisha’s practice is rooted in neuroaffirmative and culturally sensitive approaches — ensuring that every voice is not just heard, but truly celebrated.

She believes it’s never one-size-fits-all, placing culture, care, and individuality at the heart of her work.

That same belief fuels South Asian SALT’s mission: to support professionals, organisations, and communities in building spaces where everyone feels heard and able to thrive.

As a South Asian professional in a field where representation is limited, Nisha is committed to creating environments that honour identity and amplify voices.

Beyond her professional life, she finds balance in travel, HIIT workouts, and yoga — carrying her belief that care, adventure, and wellbeing go hand in hand.

Our Vision

  • Supporting the South Asian community to build their communication confidence and independence across generations.

  • Creating a network of south asian professionals across health, education and social care whilst supporting their growth as leaders as frontline practitioners.

  • Empower organisations to recognise communication as a core skill in supporting their teams and service users.
