Meet the Founder
At South Asian SALT, our founder Nisha Veerd brings a decade of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist in the UK, working across community paediatrics and neurodevelopmental teams.
Her practice is rooted in neuroaffirmative, culturally sensitive care, because support only really works when it fits the person and not the other way round.
That belief is what South Asian SALT is built on.
We exist to build resilient South Asian communities through stronger communication, connection and wellbeing.
And that resilience isn't something we're building from scratch. It's already there, in our culture, our families and our histories. Our role is simply to create space for it to be seen, shared, and passed on.
As a South Asian professional in a field where representation is still limited, Nisha is committed to building spaces where identity is honoured and every voice is genuinely heard.
Outside of work, you'll find her travelling, doing HIIT, or on her yoga mat, proof that care, adventure, and wellbeing don't have to live separately.
'Communication is the driving force behind health and wellbeing, and it's how we support resilience amongst us all'
